Hello,
Sorry i have been rubbish with blog past week! To much sun and cocktails...
So we left Hue after a rather large night out, I uttered the famous words 'just one drink' this turned into 4 and a bucket of gin and tonic! It was 20% off what was I supposed to do?
We had lots of fun meeting other bachpackers and dancing, unfortunately big James had to be taken home 2 buckets of rum and coke did not go well with him. I later found out he had passed out in his room and had to be hosed down! This caused plenty of entertainment and photo evidence on the bus ride to Hoi An!
After reaching Hoi An I was very excited to learn we had a pool and even mire excited to learn we were a 10 minute bike ride from the beach! After some lunch we were straight on the bikes to the beach and played in the sea! A quiet night of dinner and pool (I'm getting ever so slightly better) me and Duncan dud win the game!
Sunday was Little James's birthday 19 'old apparently'. All day we were thinking of challenges for him and the first came with burying him in the sand and then drinking his beer from a straw, he was then allowed out! A game of volleyball (winning team I think so), swimming and sun bathing and we headed back for the evening meal. However it being a birthday we thought ring o fire was a must before dinner, not so much after dinner and cake we headed for some bars! When we returned from the 2nd bar with some new friends to the next we discovered every where was closed apart from the mini bus offering to take us to a beach party and before I new it about 30 of us were squashed in and releived to actually end up at a beach party! More friend making, ring o fire and little Janes being returned home ( he was a little unwell) we eventually made our way back!
The next day involved sleep, swimming pool time and a cooking course. It was great and I made sone amazingly tast Vietnamise food, which I shall impress you all with when I'm home!
Tuesday was a fun day 9 hours on the train to Nha Trang several card games and pot noodles later we arrived 1 drink and to bed!
Wednesday we took a boat out for the day and visited a tiny fishing village on Miu island we had a little tour and were rowed back to our boat in a basket yes a basket! We did some snorkelling I saw a fish and lots of coral, a huge seafood lunch and we were dropped at a tiny, stony, tourist beach so I napped! Homeward bound and we headed out for some more drinks returning several hours later and meeting someone who actually knows Suffolk, Orford in fact!
Not feeling so great Thursday morning I was convinced to go to the waterpark with the boys, we took the cable car across to Vinpearl Island which is spelt out in the Hollywood letters across the mountain! It was fun and we spent all afternoon up the steps, steps and more steps and down the slides-big children!
My last overnight train and it was a beauty some how we managed to get 1st class and I slept as soon as I got on.
We arrived in Ho Chi Mihn City 6 am Friday morning after dropping our bags at the hotel we were off to the Cuchi tunnels and these were fascinating to see how they beat the Americans, very, very clever! When we returned we had our walking tour and visited the war remnants museum. Again it was great to see and I'm learning quite alot about the history here! (not all beaches and cocktails)!
Friday evening we all headed for our final meal and another birthday Philips, more cake it's no red velvet I tell thee! We ended up in some dodgy bars and made our way home ready for a full days sightseeing.
Saturday up bright and early well 8 Sajel, Joe and I visited a Hindu temple, pagoda and history museum! We stopped for lunch and tricked into going to the cinema to see sex and the city 2 terrible I know but it's 35' and humid!
We met our new tour guide and said goodbye to Duncan and Philip no new tour friends though!
Off to Cambodia tomorrow and it's a full days travel ....
Enjoy the weekend x x x
