On a rainy overcast Sunday we are looking for shoes for myself
Can you believe it that I walked my old boots kaput in 6 weeks. Maybe I was just too heavy for them
There are no size 11/12 inky little piña del mar so Pollie suggest the moving market that travels up and down the coast of Barcelona north
On the train north to Toreda and it rains
Strange water coming down but it is not cold. I bought us umbrellas and took refuge under them while lots of people just enjoy walking in the rain getting wet. Now you my reader would think it is children -- no old people and they all say sun will shine soon which it did after an hour and all will be well
At last found a pair of walking shoes the only 11/12 size they have
Like Italians these Spaniards have small feet in relation to us
Walking back in the rain all singing and dodging pools of water got the train and we were back at our hotel at 5 Pm
I still wanted to go and see a old Roman water duck which apparent dates back from 4 BC
It looks old but the cement they used to gold the rocks in position is but suspect
As an old builder we know what it looks like and I know Romans used some sort of burned chalk and crushed shells
Will take it up with some archeology expert
O I have to introduce you to Wim Kiwitz van Holland who happened to share with is a table at Dinner
Apart from his important work as a bookkeeper he also served 35 years as a volunteer fireman, as he expressed himself first a liitle spuit (watering) for 15 min and then it was trauma counseling(drinking) for 4 hours
O we had a laugh on many more stories of this funny Hollander
Oki doki goodnight
