And here we are in lovely north Italy and true to our rule stay put of cities we arrived in Liverno Ferreiras
The very typical Italain village you see on TV and in Movies. Woman who swept in front of buildings, old men sitting on Coffee/ bar veranda and washing hanging on balcony as far as you look up to the street. The old church dates from 987 what an old place
We arrived in this Liverno Ferreiras station a one horse town station "exactly" will be describing this town.
Not to be bothered we embark hesitantly and started strolling out into main street - all deserted what I did not know it was siesta. Only person alive was a old woman who in Italian directed me to a restaurant further down the street who was not opened but now that 2 customers was standing in front of it- with cash to pay and not a local who wants credit - the lady welcomed us basta with siesta.
We were served and spoiled with attention and care - she even ran up to her flat to bring down a tea set that must have dated of many years ago to serve us tea.
Wow this was small town hospitality at it's best. After a lovely small meal we felt refreshes and off we went exploring the town square
It reminds me of that favorite film "secret of Santa Victoria " square where all the people state at us looking completely out of place dragging a suitcase and cameras and small bags swinging left and right as we make it to the middle. Sat on bench and start to stare at the old people and kids playing around.
Carefully approaching a passer by to ask directions to a supermarket there are no English speakers around and suddenly every one tries to explain. In Italian. All I can hear is Avante avante and a hand in that direction what we follow.
Eventually we found the supermarket and all want to help. I could find a phone and call our old SA friend
