The Winelands of Bordeaux in France
Yes we finally arrived at this manicured farmlands with the vines in such neat rows and trimmed
It is busy transcending into final stages of autumn
And a smorgasbord of color are meeting our eyes from hill top to hill top
But there are one very bad point standing out are the farm buildings and farm yards in and around the farm stead
It is unkept the houses look dilapidated o now what a sight for sore eyes
These winelands are not a patch To SA areas like Franshoek and De Doorns
We are looking far neater with our white buildings and even the worker accommodations are better looking than the farm structures we saw in France
The roads leading to and among the small towns are beautifull lined with old huge Platana trees
We stopped at one coop cellar to taste Red wine and was not impressed with the wine at all. Too rough and bitter
Our Cabernet are soft and smooth no France is no match for us on the winelands as well as on the Rugby field
Accommodation is not up to standard in this area unless you want to try out a Chateau. Being in Winter cold already will not trust the warmth and plumbing
The small towns look tatty and not like Paarl and Worcester with good quality guest houses
Restaurants are in offer but of Rip off kind
We travel on budgets and will pay for good food and must be convinced that they can-- which is not for coming when you step into buildings
The outside sloppy ness and the unkept surrounds convinces me not to look further
Every menu are full of some Goose liver pate which sells for 16 E a portion
No SA male citizen can be full on that portion
