Well it's been a busy week! Sooo glad it's the end of the week, mainly due the fact that I'm off to Paris next week though so it has been a nice quiet weekend so far that is set to continue. Plus it's feckin' freezing. You think it's cold in the UK? Try it over this way! I've been lovin' it though- very fresh indeed!
It's been exhausting though, battling the freezing weather and the wind. Theres been lots to do this week too, marking tests and giving more exams. Doing loads of boring admin like registers and other stuff. There's just been lots to remember to do this week. Consequently I did forget something on Friday- i realized my tram pass ran out on Saturday and luckily had the common sense to think that the transport office might not be open on Sat, so i went all the way home to come all the way back into town just to get a new one and a bloody good job i did, despite the freezin weather and waiting ages for a tram. It did mean though, that i stumbled across a nice little cafe on the way home called Franz bistro and had the nicest lunch menu ever. The soup was gorgeous, really thick and creamy with courgette and potato in and i had the choice of falafel with grilled aubergine and dip or salmon. I went for the falafel and was really pleased i did- for vegetarian in Czech it was amazing. I'll definitely be going back there :).
Yes, so, I'm doing my good-girl-saving-money act this weekend which means not leaving the house much. I don't mind this so much cuz it'll be a fun packed whirlwind of a week next week but it is very quiet. At least if I'm in the UK and having a quiet weekend it doesn't mean quiet- it actually means really loud. Here it means actually quiet. I have been honing my singing skills to keep myself company though. I think the neighbours think I'm mad. They're probably right.
Most of my friends from here have already sodded off: Trace has gone to bratislava, Jack to Amsterdam, Seamus to Prague, Hana to Morocco and Sarak and Steve to England. This has also been beneficial to the saving money bit- no influence to do anything or go anywhere. That's not to say i couldn't be motivated on my own to get up and do things, or that I'm reclusive, it's jsut easier to have willpower and eat the crap contents of your cupboard that you thought immediately after buying 'why did i buy that?' and get some cleaning and washing done than go out. And watch s*** TV. Which I have done ample of. I'm half packed though and done some reading. I've even done some yoga. And a little bit of lesson planning. Just a bit though. I have also eaten my weight in broccoli because i wanted it to use it before it went off if im not here next week- and surely that can only be good for me!
It's also been the best few nights sleep I've had for a loooooong time the last couple of nights. I'm not sure why cuz my mind has been whirring with all the stuff I had to do last week and if I've got everything I need for Paris. I'm at the point now where I think as long as I have my passport and a bit of money it'll be fine. So lots of photos should be up next weekend for you to have a browse at :). I'm sure it's the weather so that's another tick in the advantages box. Having seen the snow in the UK today though, i hope it stays away enough for me to actaully get to paris. Snow all you want while i'm there just let me get there!
Well, that's it for now, just a brief update before I jet off. I'll give you another one all about Paris next week and lots of photos. :)
