Had my only day tour in Launceston today.
Diane, my guide for the day took me on her Suzuki swift for the trip. She's a retired lady who has gone into tourism two years ago.
First, we went to the Hillswood Berry Farm. And yet again, I picked berries. This time, it's raspberries!
Proceed to the Yondover Goat Farm, which I had some tastings of the cheese. Some are yummy some are hmmm...
Then headed to the Lavender Farm! Though the lavenders weren't in full bloom yet, but the sprawling fields of it was already exhilarating! And one couldnt resist shopping there!
The final stops were at vineyards (pronounced as v-in-yards). First was to Jansz, a winery which produces sparkling wines. I had three samples and i started to get high. Sigh... My tolerance level for alcohol has gone done, or it must be the wines are super powerful! Then just down the road, we went to the Pipers Brook, a winery into Pinot noir and chardonnay. I had like 6 samplings.. And I couldnt continue already! There is a cafe at the vineyard, so Diane and I shared a platter as lunch. Think it must be my empty stomach that made me went floaty!
On the way returning to the city centre, we went through the winding road along Tamar River and stopped by a place called Brady's Lookout. Brady was a bush ranger (similar to a robber but hid among the bushes) in the very early years. He had even rob people whom invited him for dinner! And he had got a place named after him! Not bad!
Before going back hotel, I went for a short shopping at the city centre. Need to get some sweets and bread for Cradle Mountain tmr!
Upon return to the hotel, I did my checkout cos I will need to leave for my bus to Cradle mountain at 8am tmr! And also to leave some of my luggage at the hotel.
After all the admin things got settled, finally able to get a nice hot bath. Headed out for a short walk, also to find dinner. Found this place which look like a food court, they called it a "food hall". There are only about 8 stalls, selling western, Chinese, asian (thou the stall called itself Thai Express, it sells Laksa and satay! And the people tending to the stall are either singaporeans or malaysians from their accent! Hahhaha)
Got pumpkin soup for dinner again! Sigh..I just miss soups.. Esp my mum's soups...
