Left hotel early at 8am, walked to the bus transit centre to take the 845am bus. Though I've left a bulk of things in the hotel, my bag pack didn't seem to have lightened!
Bought a coffee at the bus transit cafe. Was kinda pissed by the woman there. She looks Asian. Before me was two Australian policemen. Then after me was another few policemen. Logically my coffee should come after the first two cups right? But I dunno what she was doing, pouring away cups of steamed milk/foam, and refilling cups again. Machiam making a lot of cups!! And so as a pissed customer, I told her I need to catch a bus, and asked if I could have my coffee. Then she handed me my coffee. Duh!
After a 3hr bus ride along the winding roads, finally reached Cradle Mountain!!
I am staying at the Discovery Holiday Park, in a 4-beds dormitory. But I'm the only one in the room! Woohoo!
After putting my bag, I left the room to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre right away! No time to waste!
Hopped on the shuttle bus to the Dove Lake! There are shuttle buses servicing the people here, with five stops along the way. And the distance between each stop is faaaaaaar!!
So my first stop was at Dove Lake! Whistle whistle! My regret is that my camera is not good enough! Sigh!
And I took three hours to walk the Dove Lake circuit, which is a total of 6.5km. I really wonder if they measured it correctly! And they estimated the walk to be 2hr! Pfftt.. I think it's me- unfit and slow! Haaahaaa!
And yes, another experience that made me realized how unfit I was, and I need training! (wanted to do an extension of trek to Lake Wilki. But the climb was too tough, too steep. Not adequately equipped with the right shoes or any trekking equipment, I gave up half way. Sigh..)
Well, along the way, I did take photos. Maybe that's why I took longer? Haahaa! ;p
It was an awesome experience through the forest - landscape changes, colours change, lighting changes, altitude changes and it's totally like in some fairy tale lands!
Finally completed, took the shuttle bus back to the visitor center and back to hotel.
Remember I brought a loaf of bread, well, that made part of my dinner, and potato chips!
