Korea Rocks
Well hello there folks! How are things going? I'm sorry its been a while since I last updated, but, well, to be blunt, I've been quite boring of late, so nothing to report! Today has been a typical sunday-sitting in and watching silly TV shows...all of which I love! The weathers really bad here at the moment...really strong winds and a ridiculous amount of rain...boo!!! Friday was good. Our school decided to close for the day, so no classes! Yay! And they took us to Gi-Jang temple, which was about a 30 minute drive away. When we got there I was shocked at how beatiful it was. NOt that i dont consider Korea as a beautiful country, but I guess sometimes I forget where I am, and seeing this amazing place reminded me, in a good way, how far away i am from home.
After wandering for a while, taking in the views and a few minor issues with me getting paranoid people would fall off the edge of the cliff, we headed out to get lunch. This resturant was AMAZING...we had pumpkin and duck...and it was soooooo good. In typical Korean style, the table was covered in all sorts of other dishes too for us to try. It was certainly somewhere iI'd like to go again, although I got the feeling it was pretty expensive...but it was ok on this occasion as it was all paid for by our director!
After our food had settled we went to this really cute place in the back end of know where to make pottery...i thought it appropriate to break out in a Patrick and Demi fashion...."ohhhhh...myyyyyy looooveeee, my darling! Ive hungered for your touch!"...all the foreign teachers joined in and the Koreans just stared at us...thinking we were on drugs maybe. So, what began as a bowl turned out to look more like an ashtray, but thats ok (sorry mom!)..and I'll post a picture of it when i get it back...its being glazed at the moment. All very exciting.
So last night a group of us headed out to Haeundae for Mexican, games room and drinks. Abi commented how awesome it was to have 5 white females walking together..and i absolutly agree...it felt really liberating. Excellent. The food was really good, but my stomach isnt used to it and after a couple of hours at the games room i began to feel quite sick. I was gutted, as i was soooo looking forward to partying the night away. By the time we hit the bar, one bottle of water later, i still felt awful, so left and went to bed....:(...oh well, theres always next weekend! In fact no! Theres always tomorrow!
Well, I'm off to Bedfordshire-I'm getting up early tomorrow as ive decided to join the gym-ill keep you posted how that goes! i may not make it through my front door! no no...i will...dedication..hmmmmm....dedication to being able to shop for any clothes i choose in a country where its a sin to be over a size 6.
Oh, one more thing...the cell/mobile thing...ive realised i cant send or recieve international texts, which is a shame, so please dont waste your credit.
Love you all, miss you all...take care
xx
