Korea Rocks
Well, I am on day 5 of my move to Korea, and so far I am loving every second. The people are so friendly and the overall atmosphere here is amazing. I arrived late at night on Saturday, and was a little nervous about my first night alone in my flat....it hasn't taken me long to get over that though, and now I really enjoy having the chance to relax and watch cheesy chatshows whenever I please!
The other foreign teachers here rock....there's 6 of us all together...3 Canadians (I know Sarah!), two Americans and me! They have all made me feel welcome and taken me out to show me the sights and sounds of my new city. Claire has taken me shopping at a night market and I bought some gorgeous earrings for 70p!
I also went on a boat trip with Claire and Glenn the other day and got some gorgeous pictures that I will post soon.
Theres this crazy guy I'm working with called Trevor....just for you Sandie! He's a nice guy....I think he'll end up being my drinking buddy....he introduced me to a local spirit yesterday and warned me to take it easy with the amount i put in my drink.....advice I opted to ignore....BAD IDEA. I hadn't even finished my second glass and I couldn't feel my nose!!! He thought it was hilarious of course and I was mortified as to how much of a lightweight i am!
It's my first proper day at school today....the school is gorgeous and the kids are so tiny! I love them all....so well behaved and so so cute!! It's abit hectic trying to organise my classes, but I have a pretty good schedule. Monday-Friday, but I only work for 2 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Crazy!
The beach here is great...much nicer than I thought it would be.....and its a great place to chill out with some drinks at night.....everyone here stays up so late.....even at 1am little kids are still out playing on the beach.
Well, I hope you are suitably bored after reading my first entry...I will upload my pics soon.
