Left the campsite at Serooskerke at 9p'clock--great effort by everyone to be ready for the road. A few kilometres took us across the Vearse Dam then across part of Noord Beveland and onto the causeway (about10km long) across two islands to Schowen where we had coffee in a lovely town called Burgh. 81km on very hot day. Cool riding beside the canals, good coffee stop at Damme. Crossed into Holland at Sluis--Mike led the way over a canal bridge, the rest of the party went straight on. After a stop at a supermarket we cycled on and eventually came across Tony with a flat on his Brompton, which takes ages to fix, then further on,the others sheltering from the sun in the shade of a meagre hedge in a builders yard. Rest day --another very hot day.After the domestic chores I went with Katherine,Nathan, Ibraham and Steve to the beach nearby. Had a lovely swim in the North Sea then a coffee at the beach cafe. Cycled on to another beach further on and had another swim before a picnic lunch on a seat in the cool coastal deciduous forest. Came back via a camping shop. Bar not open as it is Sunday--looks like no dinner tonight as no shops open either.
