We packed up and got ready for the road trip to Wanaka the next day 100 dollars up as the guys at reception gave us a 100 dollars back for a behavior deposit (anyone under 25 would have to pay it as they've had a few problems with noise) but we hadn't paid one so laughing out loud we hit the road and headed for another long journey on to Wanaka!
We hit the road to Wanaka, stopping off just outside the tiny town in a place called Albert town to set down for the night. We went into a hotel to use the internet to update our pic's and it was so strange that we had a little tap in the shoulder saying
"hey, it's the Welsh girls!" it was only a Canadian girl called Mandy that we had originally met in Byron Bay Oz there after seeing her twice up the east coast…….it's so strange that when your traveling around the globe, you can happen to be in the same country, town and place at the same time! Crazy a? well we thought so….small world after all??? The next day we went to Puzzle World …this was great fun! There were many optical illusions with a hall of holograms that changed and jumped out at you, also a room full of famous faces inverted into the walls, as you walked the faces moved with you…quite freaky having mother Teresa watching your every move!! there was anoher room that looked like it was of normal shape and size with nothing in it but a door at either end but again….. it was all an illusion! when you went into the room, the door one side of the room looked as if it was huge and the other side of the room was tiny…… making you look like a giant and a midget….oh god did we laugh! Next was a room where everything seemed on a slant and people stood upright in the room appeared to be very off balance, all the objects, slides and water in the room were pointing and flowing the wrong way… it was soooo cool! we just stood laughing aloud at strangers…of course they laughed too….fun fun fun!! After we had been around all of the rooms we went to the huge out door maze which we might add was very difficult to complete (we should have realized this by watching the frustration on the peoples faces…..) there were bridges, dead ends and a colored tower in each corner that you had to reach, once you had found all four towers you had to get back to the start…it was nightmare to start…..we were just continuously hitting dead ends…laughing & threatening to give up….but our competitive natures got the better of us & in the end we found our way around and got out within 45mins, the average time being between half hour and an hour so's guess we didn't do too bad!
