After Santa Cruz we headed to a small town called Samaipata which was a peaceful retreat in the country side.
We did a few small walks and had a look at some pre inca ruins. The town itself was really pretty and surprisingly full of German expats which was a bit random.
We are now in Sucre which is at 2700m, is further south and a 15hour gruelling bus ride from Samaipata. The buses here are far from comfortable and the journey was more like being inside a marracka. The only toilet stop involved the bus pulling over and everyone peeing along side each other at the roadside. Needless to say, neither of us indulged but 15 hours without peeing is excruciating!
Sucre is a lovely city, we plan to stay here till the weekend then head to a city called Pitosi which is at 4000m! Apparantly it´s the highest city in the world. We just hope that we don´t get sick, so far, we are ok. Tomorrow we are going to look at some dinosaur footprints (supposedly the largest concentration in the world!).
The food here is ok, just had 2 courses for a pound. We never know what we are going to get really we ask for chicken and hope for the best!
We´re developing a sweet tooth as everything here has sugar on it or in it! The cakes are amazing too and there seems to be sweet sellers on every street corner!
Hopefully we will be able to write again in Pitosi, we plan to head further south and visit the salt flats and a cactus desert!
