Today i decided to eat a traditional type of food, Lobster. Spain has a large amount of its coasts surronded by the Mediterranean Sea, which means sea food is as fresh as it gets. The lobster is hard to keep fresh and are hard to find, making it an expensive food, but very tasty. Spain has a wide variety of seafood making the country have some of the best in the world.

Today i learned about a very important festival in Spain, the Semana Santa. It is easter in spain except much different. Members of near bye parishes decorate floats that they carry it to the city cathedral to for depicting the passion of christ. I am catholic so i thought it could be interesting to see how spanish people celebrate easter. Maybe sometime i could come back to see this.

Today i visited a great historical site, The Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. It is amazing. Originally it was a small church that was built over st. James tomb. To later destroyed by Almansor Moorish Army in 997. The cathedral is now standing tall and has a marvalous exterior. Including the baroce facade know as the obradorio facade. The interior of the cathedral has early romanesque with a cruciform shape.

Today is my last day in Spain and i wanted to do something really fun that i would never forget. So i visited the Balearic Islands. These are four places that are gems in the spanish crown on the flag. The islands names are Ibiza, Menorca, Mallorca, and Formentera. I visited each of them and the bueaty ranges from mountains to beaches. The islands are wonderful, fun and thrilling.

Today i wanted to pick up a souvenir to bring home with me. I really like Spain and wanted something that would show resemblance of the country. I found some dancing figures, one of the most popular souvenirs in Spain. They come in all sizes big to small and are found througout the whole country. The ladies have on long colorful dresses and hats that decribe the culture of Spain
