Bath is a beautiful city, reminding us much of Brussels, Belgium. It has wonderful architecture, and a rich history. We visited the Roman baths, which were about 2500 years old. The hot baths were fed by a spring, and still works today, though they do not use the original hot tubs. They also kept a sacred area where the Gods were to bathe. The springs still bubble today! Bathing for the romans was an all day event and quite ritualistic. They had everything from specific times to stay in each pool of different temperatures, to massage therapists on site to walk you through the ritual.
We had the opportunity to drink from a fountain directly fed by the spring, and the mineral water tasted AWFUL, not to mention it was hot, but is supposedly good for you. I'm not so sure, I still haven't sprouted wings, can't breathe fire, or do any other cool tricks, but I'll keep you posted.
