Today we woke up to our 7:15 wake up call from the hotel, and headed down to a breakfast of eggs, croissants, fresh fruit, and strong coffee.
We then took a bus tour around all of Paris, with our tour guide, Etienne, pointing out all the major landmarks including the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, the opera house, the obelisk, the Seine River, the Arc de Triomphe, and many other landmarks. We stopped at Notre Dame to go inside, then had free time in the Latin quarter. The Latin quarter of Paris is known for its many shops and restaurants.
After the Latin quarter, we took the metro to a Parisian cooking school where we were taught by chefs how to make bread rolls with pesto and mozzerella, chicken wraps, crèpes, and chocolate fondu.
We then took the Metro to the Louvre and split into small groups for about two and a half hours, trying to see as much of the Louvre as possible. Each group only had enough time to see the major exhibits, and top on everyone's list was definitely the Mona Lisa.
We ended the night with a guided boat tour on the Seine River where we saw Paris all lit up.
Needless to say, we all were very happy to get into our warm beds for a good night sleep.
