Darlings! its the international sweethearts once again to inform you of our adventures since Byron Bay. We arrived in Brisbane, a bit like Melbourne, a bit like Sydney, a bit like any other city! At least our hostel had a bar allwoing us to meet up with some old east coast pals for some drinks. We decided to make the most of our one full day and spent it visiting galleries, museums and clock towers! Tors and Liz even made an aboriginal friend, named Grace...and swiftly set her to work weaving them fans and bracelets. We crossed the river to Southbank, which was beautiful, and we enjoyed a nice lunch in the public gardens. Early to bed- ready for our 6am set off to the town of Noosa.
We arrived in Noosa and explored the beach and town, before having a bbq with some friends at the hostel. It was a fabulous evening, with plenty of red meat and goon! Anyone who knows of Tors's phobia of fish will be impressed to hear that she ate large quantities of a fish called 'Basa' and actually enjoyed it! We have even eaten it since and even sober, shes still loving it! Whilst there, we also hired out kayaks with our new roomate friend, and got the chance to explore the beautiful river, jump off bridges and soak up the sun from the water. Noosa was similar to Byron Bay in the fact it was a small surfer town, however, in contrast, Noosa is home to many wealthy old retirees, and Australian holidaymakers, therefore there was a lack of nightlife and backpacking atmosphere- fear not, we still managed to find a bar!
We are now in Rainbow beach, thus named due to the many different coloured sands It is another quiet town, but we are all feeling rather excited as on friday we are heading off to Fraser Island- ther worlds only/largest (we're not sure which) all sand island in the world, for a 4X4 self drive adventure, with dingoes, camping and fresh water lakes.
We'll blog again soon to tell you all about our adventures on Fraser. We are all well, and still having an amazing time downunder! Keep us updated with news and love from home.
Love from us all Tors, Sam and John xxx
