Where's Suzie?
Well I won't go on about my final days in Santiago as they were quite dull as I've had a stinking cold, felt like crap and they had some kind of public holiday on my last day so everything was closed!!! Got chatting to some really friendly students who all crowded around me once they realised I wasn't American and practised their english on me but that was about it.
Much more interestingly I'm now in Tahiti and oh my god what a place!!!
Been frantically trying to get an extention on my stay but there are not flights so sadly gonna be leaving in just a few hours. As I'm sitting here there's some traditional music and dancing going on in the hotel restaurant (would be perfect if it wasn't for all the junior surfers staying here for some world championships).
Arrived only a couple of days ago, found a nice hotel but was chucked out after a day as they failed to tell me that they were fully booked. They very kindly found me somewhere else to stay..... a five star joint just up the road.....which was nice! The place is amazing....it's right on the beach (black volcanic sand one) and my room has a view of the sea and pool. It's total and utter luxury here and I could get soooo used to all this. I can constantly hear the crashing waves on the beach and there's loads of birds and crickets. It's been really hot....when I arrived (at 11.30 at night it was around 30 degrees!) but it's just started raining now. The Tahitan people are really friendly, they all wear bright lairey shirts and flowers in their hair (one behind the right ear if you're single, one behind the left if you're taken and one behind both if you're taken but open to offers - oooer!). I haven't had a chance to go and see all the sights as I spent my first day packing and moving to a new hotel and all of today trying to change my flight. Managed to spend some time in the pool today though which was great as it's my first swim since I've been away. Really sad at having to leave here but will definately come back one day - preferably not on my own.
I'm off now to try and find something on the beach to bring home with me (wish me luck, it's pitch black out there!!).
Bye xxxxxxxxx
