Well since I last spoke to you all Coffs Harbour got a little more interesting. Met a dutch girl called Renata at the dorm and we went out for some food then went out to a club/bar called the Plantation hotel. Bumped into Colm an Irish guy I'd met briefly at Port Macquarie and we had a few drinkies and a dance. The place was absolute mayhem though, I now understand why Walkabout is the way it is. People getting absolutely slaughtered, toilets a total mess, girls acting like blokes and cheesey music. There was a space of 10 mins where they played some decent music but the rest of the evening was Christina Aguilera appreciation night. Some 21 yr olds tried chatting me up telling me they were 25 and when they found out I was 33 (I thought it'd get rid of them) they proposed to me. Got back to the dorm about 4am and overslept the next morning (was meant to go on a boat ride to see some dolphins). Went down to the beach with Renata and swam in the creek for a bit which was wicked as it's a natural spa and the currents were pulling you in from the sea. Saw a really cute dog swimming along trying to keep up with it's owners and getting nowhere. Met up with Colm who was playing the penny whistle on the beach (thought Michael Flatley was gonna come prancing along the beach) but I left soon after as it was so hot and I'd already had too much sun and went to take a photo of The Big Banana (the first of "The Bigs" as a matter of fact!). Got back to the dorm, fell asleep and woke an hour later to find I'd burnt my forehead. Didn't feel too good so stayed in with the girls watching movies and taking the piss out of Aussies and Yanks....I really feel European after this trip. Didn't sleep much that night as it was so hot.
