Where's Suzie?
Day 8 - The wedding day! Wedding wasn't until 8pm so had quite a chilled out day. Good job too as it was all quite tiring. As a witness I had to stand at the front of the church throughout the ceremony which took quite a long time as there was a guy translating everything the priest was saying. It got really hot and apart from Andrew`s mum nearly fainting and one of the kiddies moaning all the way through, the ceremony was lovely. Very much the same set up as a wedding back home. Funny part was that Andrew walked down the aisle to Land of Hope and Glory...he he!
Afterwards it was back to the military base where the reception took place. It was a really pretty setting and they`d done a really good job at making everything just right. Reception was the same as back home, lots of champagne, food and dancing....although Andrew and Monica's first dance was to YMCA???
Once the evening was over some of us went onto a bar in Leblon (just next to Ipanema) and stayed there until the sun came up. We walked back to the hotel along the beach in our glad rags and got back around 6am. Day 9 - spent the whole day in bed!!
