Emma and I went to visit family in New Hampshire for the day yesterday. It was great to catch up with them, returning a lot sooner than we thought from last time!! Brianna did some shopping and visited the aquarium (and by all accounts, had a great day!).
Today, we headed out to return to the end of the Freedom Trail and visit the USS Constitution, which was closed yesterday. It was about an hour of steady walking to get back (which includes over a bridge that has some grates between you and the water and that is it...if you don't like jetty's, you wouldn't like this bridge!). The USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned warship afloat (HMS Victory is the oldest commissioned warship but it's in drydock in Portsmouth). We had a great tour of the ship with a Petty Officer, whose first post was to the USS Constitution (it's commissioned), so he hasn't done much in the navy, other than take tours of the ship!
We then got the train into New York City and our accommodation is fantastic, with a little kitchen and everything! Brianna and I headed out to see Harry Potter and then to Times Square before getting back about 12:30am so I must be off to bed!
