We are in Sapporo which is the biggest city on the northern island of Hokaido. Sendai was quite nice but obviously not very exciting compared to Tokyo. We headed to a hill which overlooks the city and is the site of what used to be a castle. The views were stunning espically as the city was just lighting up and we had a full panoramic view. For dinner we had cows tonuge yakitori style(meat on skewers). We have been on bullet trains now which are incredibly fast and smooth, puts the british rail system to shame. We arrived in Sapporo at 5pm and headed out ofr a bite to eat, we had ramen which is noodles in a kind of broth, really nice. The place we ate was a tiny little room which could have been somebodies kitchen and the food was cooked in front of us. We went to a bar after where a lot of gaijen(us) hang out. Good mix of foriegners and japanese. We meyt a cool guy called ryuji(ug) who was obsessed with England, espiecally english women. asked us if english prostitutes did japanese men, somehow it actually sounded sweet coming from him. One thing is for sure, Japanese women love English men and I found myself recieving attention from a women who could barely speak a word of english, but hey the language of love is universal. went to the sapporo beer factory/musuem today great night out. we are heading back down to a small town called tonno tomorrow in northern honshu. train pass is great, anywhere anytime we want. cold and grey up north here just like england
