So today we were off to see Mont St Michel. We caught a bus early this morning after a yummy breakfast and amazing fresh squeezed OJ (check out the picture of the machine. I told Wes we should have registered for that thing when we got married!). The trip took about three hours each way and Harper was an awesome traveler again. She slept the whole bus ride up and back and was such a trooper all day in her Ergo. Tourists from around the world were oohing and ahhing all over her. She loved the attention:)
Mont St Michel is an Abby with a village that is surrounded by water, it was breath taking. When we arrived we had lunch with our group at Les Terrasses Poulard. The restaurant looked out over the water. Dad carried Harper at first while I was hefting the heavy diaper bag and camera bag up a million steps. I finally got wise and switched with Wes at the top when I realized the baby was lighter then the bags. It was windy but Harper and I were toasty. The views from the top were amazing, like nothing I have ever seen before. On the way down we stopped in the village shops and had a yummy gaufre (a hot sugary french waffle) with powdered sugar and chocolate sprinkled on top (this would be my first of two gaufre's for the day)! We are already talking about coming back to Mont St Michel another time and walking out around the tidal basin at low tide, and maybe even staying in one of the few village hotels for the weekend.
Once home here in Nantes we strapped Harper into the stroller and headed back into town center for some dinner. She has grown to love the bumpy stroller ride over the cobblestones, eventhough I think it looks tourturous and a bit like we are causing shaken baby syndrome. She is all tucked in and we all are headed to bed to get ready for our trip to Paris in the morning. Au revoir.
