A nice quiet sea day. Well I should start with the goss from yesterday. We had a brilliant day the best yet on the trip.
Not so everyone.
We disembarked via tender (small boat transfer) the tender that arrived after ours had the jetty collapse! So They were turned back To the ship And that was that for them for 4 hours whilst repairs were made.
Then having arrived we had a complementary shuttle bus to the nearby town. After our bus left, the local
Taxi drivers got the hump not enough people were getting taxies despite them being cheap. So they took impromptu industrial Action and prevented any further complimentary busses leaving! Apparently is was a right old mess.
On the plus side P & O decided to compensate us all for the inconvenience to the tune of £50 each. So me and Pam had the best day out yet and got £100 for our trouble. As you can imagine there was some serious moaning going on.
Settling in to the holiday now, slept in so late today that we missed breakfast so it was after 11.
The sea of Java is much busier than we are used to there are small fishing vessels and tankers and other cruise ships all over, hope the captain stays alert as we cruise between Sumatra and Borneo, you have to pinch yourself.
By the time you read this you will be aware of the new Costa disaster, we are told there was a fire in the engine room and now they are without power and drifting around the Indian ocean. All the olds on board are predicting us as the third disaster! Well as far as we are concerned we're not bothered one bit. We are having a ball and the more the oldies moan the more entertainment there is. You see we view this as an adventure and therefore a certain level of mishap is anticipated, others view it as a hotel and moan no matter what. We're gearing up for our encounters with the Iranians, Somalians, Egyptians, Israelis and the Greeks... If we get that far. The P & O World (seconds from disaster) cruise continues, Bring it on the Halliday's are having a blast!
