We are Sailing
Well after 11 hours we finally arrived in Dubai.
Emirates are great to fly on. However I developed a bit of an upset stomach on the way, so I can assure you I could hardly wait to get off the bus into the terminal to find a toilet.
We arrived at 5 am in the morning, and the airport was chockers full of people. Amazing, lots of people lots of shopping, and lots of queues at the toilets!
Well I needed to go, so I waited and waited, and finally a free cubicle. But aghast, I opened the door, and there was no toilet to sit on, only a hole in the ground, and a place to put your feet!
Well, desperate situations sometimes require desperate solutions, so there I was, squatting in this most degrading way, then to make it worse, in my haste I didn't latch the door correctly. So Murphys law applied, and who should open the door, Brian. He had a look of shock on his face, and I had a look of shock on mine. Embarrasing, totally embarrasing! Brian hasn't been the same since. Of course , it doesn't end there. You wash yourself down with a hose, and then I needed to dry myself, but guess what, no toilet paper! Needless to say, things were a little damp for a while.
Of course, I later learned that if I had picked one of the other cubicles, it would have been set up for westerners. Given my desperate situations I couldn't afford the time to wait.
Finally our 5 hour stopover at Dubai was over, and we flew out at 10.05 am, Dubai time.

Tina Whitton Read your blog and had a little giggle. I thought they had dispensed with all those types of toilets in the airport, obviously not. Weather has still been amazing since you left 21 degrees yesterday same today. I look forward to reading about your trip as you go along.
