We are Sailing
Sorry about the abrupt end, but this program is getting tedious. Eventually we reached Port Atheninos on the Ilse of Meganisi. Well I think that's where we are, cos I can't read the signs. It is a very pretty little port. We had a very difficult berth (heard that before) as the wind was blowing so reversing the boat side on into the wind proved to be rather entertaining. Brian was driving, Stuart was on the anchor, and I did the ropes on land. We finally got it nailed. Brian Di, Cheryl and I decided we would go for a quick walk into town about a 1km. Bloody mountain goat country, and when we got there it was half past 2 and all the shops were closed, so we couldn't even buy water which was in desperate need. So back to the harbor via a short cut, and straight to the pub for a well earned rejuvenation. All was going well until Stuart saw that the boat was scraping the pier. b*****, the anchor has come loose and was dragging. Stuart has already moved the boat, but more work needed to be done. Brian hopped on and took over the wheel, while I stayed out of harms way directing the ropes on the pier. Stuart and Brian did very well fighting the wind to get the boat back, I worked the ropes and finally got it tied up. I can honestly say that if I was in Captains Cooks crew Australia would still be undiscovered. I feel sorry for Brian and Stuart. After that episode it was off to the pub once again. By that time the sea breeze came in with a real rush, and as a result a couple of small yachts that kids were sailing got up turned in the bay. The girl behind the bar had not done bar work before, so Cheryl, Diane and Heather were showing her how to make the drinks. After the bar, we all went and had showers etc (unisex showers).
We then had a great meal at the cafe down the road. And there ends another day. It is 11.41 and I am off to bed, and the traditional Greek music is wafting down from the cafe up the road. So nice to listen to.

Meant to say congratulations on your 30th wedding anniversary - Cheryl I think you deserve a medal, a gold one at that! It sounds as though you are all having a great time. I can't wait for my break which I'll take when you get back.
Trish Kapor Ooops!! Same here. Hope you had a fantastic day for your wedding anniversay. Running tonight won't be the same but I'll let them know that if there are any bar jobs, Cheryl's interested haha!!!
