"Two weeks to Christmas"....Who's counting..??..Considering Songhi & i would have been in the far north of Scotland at this time we are extremely fortunate to have been able to postpone that trip to April next year.....We'd probably be snowed in somewhere & miss out on the turkey & X'mas pudding with the Watts family at home in Lancashire....Anyhow,being grounded & snowed in at home does have it's advantages we guess....Apart from Song being nominated to help David in putting up the Christmas tree & then helping my sister Donna with preparing the X'mas culinary delights in the kitchen, we are also enjoying the chance of spending some home time with my mum...It is not only our first Christmas in England together, but we are also grateful for the comfort & support mum may need thru recovery from her eye operation (13th Dec.) for cataracts...Understandably, it's a nervous time for her & we are both glad to be here for support..!!..Not sure whether it's a good thing though,as Songhi"s got into "Coronation Street"(an English TV soapie celebrating 50 years this year),Emmerdale Farm(a rival soap) the X Factor & Strictly Come Dancing......Let's hope she doesn't get too hooked..!!..She is also taking advantage of this break by booking a "Reiki" course for herself to help further her studies within her profession....Myself,well apart from watching Arsenal stay at the top of the table in football for the season, I'm trying hard not to give away my Aussie accent while watching the English cricket team's "Ashes" tour in Australia..!!..I am looking forward to the Perth test starting on Thursday the 16th.....It is also giving me the perfect opportunity to edit & update my photo albums of the trip so far, and the chance to send off our X'mas greetings & wishes to family & friends..!!..Our apologies, if we have missed you, so please accept our wishes thru this blog & have a "A Merry Christmas & A Safe and Happy New Year for 2011"..!!..I must admit, this 'Mac' has certainly been a top investment for this adventure..!!..It's been a great way of staying in touch...
We're having a break from the cold snap at present, though according to the weather forcast it's due back by the end of next week,so we've been asked not to get too complacant...!!..Hopefully,if our wishes come true, this will be Songhi's first English White Christmas & my first since I was here in 1987......'Fingers Crossed'..!!...I guess, traditionally this does have more of a Christmassy feel than back home in Oz...Songhi has acquired a taste for Guinness & warm mulled wine and my taste for english real ale has fortunately returned..!!..That reminds me.."Cheers"..!!..
We're looking forward to the Nile cruise in January 2011 but still cannot resist the temptation of fitting in another trip to either Morocco or Tunisia before we fly out to India on the 14th of February.....'Wintersun' getaways as they are called this time of the year, are a popular & extremely cheap break to the sunny destinations of north Africa,Malta & Cyprus etc......A week's 5* Full Board including flights for approx. 200Pnds....How could you miss that..??.......
Dare I say it..!!.."So much to see & even 12 months is not nearly enough"..!!
"Happy Christmas & A Prosperous New Year For 2011 To All"
