A good second day in Bangalore
Got up at a more civilised hour and went for the omelet breakfast (still slightly nervous but getting more adventurous.
Crossed the road which was in full flow, just like some born and bred local and hailed a put put
Now should explain to non Wastell/saints there is a terrible genetic condition which prevents us calling anything by its correct name if there a slightly stupid alternative, so yes I know they aren't really put puts they are locally know as uncontrolled smiler cars.
Had good walk round the local botanical gardens and up a big rock to temple. Played with some monkeys and watched more birds. Oh yes and Rob nearly got arrested for failing to have a camera permit.
Once more strode out into the rode and hailed a ping plong and went off to the Bull Temple. Once we got past the outrage of some locals we left our shoes and the entrance and gave our selves away as soft white boys when we danced across the red hot stone walkways.
Starting to get more adventurous with local food in cafe.
Once more into the fray in our zap pang with what had to be the worst tuk tuk driver in history including stalling it then failing to restart in the middle of heavy traffic.
Walk through Calcom park and onto a little known Bangalore hostelry called Hard Rock Cafe for much needed beer.
Outside and once more the town was reminded that a Wastell was on holiday in there town as after yesterday's record high it was poring down.
On through shopping district in MG area with stops in second hand book shops and mobile phone shops in an attempt to get an Indian SIM but failed. One last dink back to hotel and then run through Bangalore rush hour to the train station.
After some wondering around and much help from friendly locals found our carriage. Again with help from crowds of locals found Rob and I were put in separate compartments. Queue much Turing shaking of heads and the conductor rearranging the car and hey presto Rob and I have our own 2 man compartment.
Slap up meal of unknown vegetables and bed time. Next stop Hydrabad.
