Tuesday night, Cynthia, from Manchester, UK, Marcel, from Switzerland, Kristen, my fellow Jayhawk from Texas, and I decided to go down to Causeway Bay and get some really good and cheap sushi at this Japanese restaurant. We knew it was popular, but didn't expect to wait more than 30 minutes or so. We ended up waiting for an hour and a half. But let me tell you, the meal was worth the wait. We ordered every type of sushi imaginable. We constantly had trays and trays of sushi being delivered to our table. Our entire table was almost covered with sushi. In the states our bill probably would have been US$150, but it was only HKD$428, or US$55. The restaurants here are SOOOOO cheap. We stayed and ate for about an hour and a half, and then left aroun midnight. We hopped on the subway and headed for Lan Kwai Fong, which is a little club/bar district in Central; they have an ice bar where the air inside is 10 degrees, but it was closed when we got there. We went to a few bars and had some shots and drinks. Anytime you order a drink they make it with good liquor and not the crap they use in the states. When I ordered a vodka tonic it was made with Stolichnaya, and my gin and tonic was made with Sapphire, delicious. Drinks weren't that much cheaper though, but again they were good. We stayed out until about 3am and actually closed the last bar we were at down. They had to ask us to leave. It was a great night with some new friends.
