Sunday night Marcel and I had planned to meet in Wan Chai for dinner. He was already down in that area so I took a bus to meet him down there. We ate at a great Thai restaurant with cheap and very good food. After dinner we decided to go to a few bars Marcel had visited a week or two before. Now I knew that Wan Chai was the Red Light District of Hong Kong, but never having been to a Red Light District before I didn't really know what to expect. First of all outside of all the bars are prostitutes or their mistresses trying to lure you into their club; once you say "no thank you", they back off. So we went to 4 different bars, and almost all of the women inside of the bars were prostitutes. And of course where there are young Philipino prostitutes there are middle-aged white businessmen. I was holding in my laughter at this point. At the last bar we went to Marcel and I met these two girls who were prostitutes from the Philippines. We danced with them for a few songs, but then ditched them when they went to the bathroom; I had to do it just for the experience. Now I can say I danced with a prostitute in downtown Hong Kong, hahaha. After the bars we went to 7-11 and bought some beer because it is legal to drink alcohol in the streets. So we just drank our beer and walked around for about an hour. We then jumped on a tram and headed home. We got off at our stop, which is about 10 stories or so below my dorm. So we thought we would just take the escalators up to our dorm. Wrong, the escalators stop running at 11pm, so we had to walk up 10 really long flights of stairs; that was fun. We finally got to the top and went back to our rooms to sleep.
