We have had a 48 hour layover in Amsterdam en route to Portugal. We have been here before and we'd come again! It is a dynamic city and there's lots to love. In true Walkamania fashion we have done a lot and still made it back to our hostel by 8pm each night. Speaking of our hostel, Europe seems to get it right! A five-hour layover in Amsterdam means there is enough time to take the train into the city, and pick up some important, last-minute shopping items before returning home.
Amsterdam is a beautiful vibrant city, and we are enjoying our two day layover here. We checked into our apartment in the city and met friends of Brock's, Matilde and Keiko who took a train from Paris. We delighted in the sunny weather and hopped on to a canal cruise which gave us a neat perspective of the city.
