First off I would like to wish my grandma a very Happy Birthday! She is 89 today woohoo!!
So today we went to Seaport Village.... How to explain Seaport Village.... Well, it's every girls paradise. Seaport Village is a combination of numerous shops, restaurants, ocean view, and hot shirtless men walking their lap dogs! hahaha Sorry ladies those pics are for my private stash. (just kidding) But it's a great place to go.
It literally looks like a village only it's made of shops and other attractions (music, psychic readers, kite flying etc) with a beautiful landscape. So we checked out different shops and purchased some souvenirs for a few people ( who knows it might be you). Then we decided to take a ride on The Seal.
The Seal is a bus/boat. Yes you take a tour along the bay than in the water. Basically our tour guy said its mostly made of foam... Anywho this was a very educational tour. I enjoyed it and learned a lot. An interesting fact that caught me by surprise, was that most of the greenery here in San Diego such as the Palm trees were imported. Which makes sense now since San Diego is technically desert. Something else I learned was about this section in the Marina area that train dolphins and some seals to track mines and bombs in the ocean. All the dolphins are captive bred so they have no desire to be in the wild even if they escape they will return. We even saw trainers outside working w/ some of these dolphins.
And of course the Navy was a big portion that was talked about. We got to see the largest navy missile ship sail by us. Learned some interesting facts about that as well. I'm not going to continue to bore you any further about facts and history. I recommend you check it out for yourselves. It's well worth it. Plus I am getting hungry and I must head back to meet the family for dinner. Going out to the buffet tonight.
I took an abundance of pics for today and I was having trouble uploading them before this blog entry. I will try again and if not you'll just have to be patient and wait.
