So sorry I could't blog sooner. Been having problems with the internet so I decided to take a stroll to a local Starbucks. I must say this is my first time in a Starbucks only because I don't drink coffee but I did get a sweet green tea, which is marvously.
So Let's get to it!
Yesterday I accomplished a life long goal of mine which was to swim with Dolphins. Overall, I had a great experience. Although I don't think I will ever wear another wet suit again in my life. Those things are awful. Their purpose is to not only keep one dry and warm but also to outline all the imperfections in your body! ugh. But, I wasn't about to let my insecurities get in my way of enjoying this great experience.
So, upon arriving we had to sign a waiver incase we drowned etc. Which I was taking a risk anyways because I am far from an excellant swimmer. We were then introduced to all the trainers and to the rest of the group. There were about 10 of us and eventually we were divided into groups of two. We were led into a locker room in which each locker had each of our names on it. Inside were our wet suits, wet shoes, and a souvenier towel. Once dressed we had to walk through the park to the site in which we would be interacting with the Dolphins. Again, walking through the park in a wet suit... not so great.
The water was freezing cold when we first stepped in. It shot pain in my hands when I put them in the water. I think I even saw an ice cube floating around. Eventually, the cold was out of my mind once we were introduced to the Dolphins. I was a big ball of cheese haha. The trainer had us first individually float on our backs with the dolphin holding hand and fin haha. it was cute. Then we each got to take a ride with the dolphin. The whole time I was telling myself DON'T LET GO, DON'T LET GO. Man you can feel the power they have when they are swimming. After that we were shown different hand signals and had the dolphins do various tricks. We had them high fiving us, making different sounds, and splashing us (salt water in your mouth- Horrible) Two photographers were in the background as well taking our pics through out the program. But the pictures that are posted are the ones my mother took. It was her first time using my Nikon camera so they aren't the best but you'll get the picture :p.
So yes I had a great time I met some great people as well. Although it cost me a quarter of a pay check it was well worth it. Money well spent.
