Hello Everyone,
Happy easter for a couple of days ago! sorry we havent written on here in a while, better late than never though! We are in Malaysia at the moment staying with 3 lovely people, Phil & Maria and their beautiful baby Aishah. For all of you that know Daniel (DTR), matts friens, its his dad! Kuala Lumpar is really nice, Phil & Mariatook us to a crazy night market where you can get all the fake designer stuff for so cheap! Its fun haggling them down 2! We have been to the Batu Caves here, all round the city, seen gorgeous mosques, eaten lovely melay food and been to the heart of the city - Merdeka Square. We have also riden the monorail and rush hour and we were in shock about how many people can fit onto one carraige! This morning we also walked across the sky bridge of the Petronas Twin towers. Very high! We are here an extra day or two as we have to wait for Vietnam visa to come through! We are off to Thailand on thursday now, we cant wait!
Anyway before malaysia we spent 4 days in Singapore! It was an experience, first place in Asia so it was weird being the minority race! We didnt realise but our hotel was in quite a scary place and it was where all the locals lived, was also the second biggest red light district in Singapore but the unlicensenced one! ahh! Also we couldnt eat around there in the food courts b'cos it was all in foreign writing and the locals didnt like us eating there! i was the only person with blonde hair we ever saw there in 4 days! We were really lucky and we found an italian restuarant called stiff chillies and we ate there everyday! the staff Bernard and Gordon were so nice and were really helpful, also the food was amazing, and it cost about 4 pounds for both dinners and a drink each! how cheap! One night we met bernard after he finished work and he took us out to eat local singapore food, they served us because we were with him so that was good! He was so lovely and he treated us to the meal too, thank you Bernard!
Singapore city was completely different to where we stayed, it was so modern and clean! and there were tourists, it was so nice to see some we felt like following them around all day! We did a river cruise and saw the city that way. also we went to Raffles hotel ( the famous hotel) and had a singapore sling. They give you monkey nuts aswell and you have to chuck your shells on the floor, we felt really rude so i just made a neat pile on the floor! hee hee! We went to Sentosa island one day, its a huge touristy place where loads of stuff happens all day like shows and there are restaurants etc, the beaches were also really nice, there is a huge merlion statue that was really nice - got some great pics there! and there were pink dolpins - how cool!
well i think thats about all so far, we got up very early today so its quite hard to think!
I have a few messages anyway!
