Left Sorrento today for Assisi, a city on top of a hill and a site for religious prilgrimage. We arrived after a servo with really expensive lunch (Cheryll paid 26 euros for lunch!) Clair, our local guide showed us around Assisi: St Claires Church... with St Claires body still intact and covered with wax. She is still visible below the church ... something special to see.
Then we walked down to St Frances Church. He is the main religious symbol in Asisi as he supposedly had stigmata. On the way there we saw St Marys Church and other small churches and frescoes on the side of the road. Then we reached St Francis Church adn went into see the beautiful frescoes. There was a really pretty one with blue background and gold stars...
After St Francis we went to eat gelati (what else) and had our names embroidered on a piece of paper. Went to our lovely hotel after that and had a lovely dinner. Girls had a bit of girl talk before heading to bed around 12.
