Lensvik 2!!!!!! 1st t- 7th August
The next day after Froya was very strange we all got up late and had breakfast at 110am which is very strange in the Landro house hold!! Then just lazed around and had lunch at 4pm-6pm ... very weird. For lunch we had traditional rice pudding with butter, cinnamon and sugar then next was new potatoes, cured meat, flatbread and coffee =]! We didn’t have any dinner that night. The next day we were all up early again, worked all morning then in the afternoon went to the lighthouse! Was very picturesque, got to see the machines inside and went up the tower I then climbed a hill. The next day we did more work then Juliet and Rune went into Trondheim. That afternoon we went to a big lake and got some canoes. Lars Arne managed to fall in before we even got started. Kenneth and I had some steering issues but that was fixed we paddled right to the end of the lake where we stopped and got out. It was very beautiful, we were on a rocky peninsula with a few trees and lots of green moss, the water was so calm and the reflection of the hills and rocks around was perfect. We saw quite a few fish rise and wished we had brought our fishing rods. Then Liam, Dad and I went swimming it was cold!!! Kenneth followed soon after and then Kay who thought it was FREEZING and not pleasant at all!! =] We then got back in our canoes and headed for home. Our steering had improved a lot and we made a detour to some cliffs and jumped off them well I jumped off the lower one and Kenneth jumped off the really high one =]. Then home for dinner. More work the next few days and one day Mum and Dad went to Trondheim to visit Juliet and Rune. One day Liam, Lars Arne, Dad and Kenneth went a saw a dairy farm where the milking is done by a robot, it’s very fancy absolutely amazing. We also had some interesting outings on Kenneth’s boat which apparently he had fixed. So we took it down to the fjord put it in started up the engine and headed off, it worked fine for a few minutes then we came to a stop in the middle of the water. Dad, Liam and Lars Arne laughed at us from shore while I took nice photos of the fjord and Kenneth tried to fix it. He saw me taking photos and said “now is not a time for taking photos it is a time for grief and despair!“ Very funny! We got the boat to safety and a few days later had another outing which was just as unsuccessful but fun all the same! Liam went fishing but didn’t catch anything. Liam, Mum and Dad went to market again one day and Kenneth and I walked up the mountain to a cairn where we put our names in the book. That night some of the pickers from Belarus left. The next morning we were leaving, we were up and packed reasonably early and said sad goodbyes to Kay, Lars Arne, Juliet, Rune and Rapha (Juliet’s dog) then we drove down the paddock to where Kenneth was working and said goodbye to him and Mya his dog. It was very sad to leave them. We got some strawberries for the trip! It was wonderful staying in Norway with them, it is a beautiful country and I had great fun helping with the strawberries. It was fantastic to see Kay, Lars Arne and Juliet again and it was awesome to meet Rune and Kenneth finally (you better come to NZ soon =])!!
