Lensvik!!!!!!! 26th-31st
Part 1 of our wonderful stay with Lars Arne, Kay, Kenneth, Juliet and evryone else
Ok well the arrival was great with a big welcome and wonderful to see everybody and to meet Kenneth =].
On our first day I was up with Kay and Lars Arne at 6.30 I then helped Kay load up strawberries for a “wifey“ then we went down to the field got the van and headed off to market in Orkanger. We had a great day there we sold strawberries at our stand and delivered some to the shops I bought Kay lunch and tried out my very limited Norwegian =D. At around 4.30 we arrived back and I went down to the field to help Kenneth, did this till picking finished then home for a lovely dinner of the BIGGEST salmon I had ever seen!! Next morning I was up very bright and early at 3.30am to go with Kenneth delivering the strawberries round the shops which were scattered far and wide =]. Between Mya ( his dog ), me and the lorry stereo we managed to keep him awake =). Got back had “brunch” then went down to the strawberry field to weigh and load the boxes into the van for Kay to take to market. Did this for the remainder of the day, stopping for lunch of course then back for another beautiful dinner and STRAWBERRIES!! Here we are eating strawberries breakfast, lunch and dinner. Jam in the morn and whole strawberries from yesterday then jam and strawberries for lunch and whole strawberries and cream for dessert!! So wonderful!! The days until the 31st followed like that though I didn’t go on the morning run again =]. It was great to be out in the country and not always walking round cities which can get very boring. Fantastic to be on a farm where I feel more at home especially when the people are so friendly and wonderful. I even made friends with the pickers who are from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Latvia. One night Kenneth took us into Trondheim for everyone to see the Harry Potter movie that was fun. Also one day we went up the hill blueberry picking using the “apparatus” and picking canterelle mushrooms (for all you NZers these are not magic mushrooms and are perfectly edible! ). On the morning I went with Kenneth I saw a moose grazing in a paddock on the side of the road that was very exciting!! The next 24hours was a trip to the island Froya (sorry all you Norwegians I don’t have a computer with the funny “o”.)
