Today we set off on the metro to visit the Lotus Temple which was pretty impressive. Went into the information centre to find out all about it but not sure we were any the wiser when we left. The only thing that did stick was that the millions of pounds it cost to build was completely funded by private individuals and just at the entrance you have families living under bits of plastic on the rubbish tip (not quite right is it??) Once we were done we headed off to collect our visas for China (hurrah!!) Went back to the hostel early armed with more sweets than last night, although they cannot have seen us coming as we weren't mobbed (Nick will just have to eat what's left!!) We have made friends with a couple of Australians who are staying in the hostel and they kindly gave us a wad of Mongolian money as we are heading there after China. They refused to take any money in exchange as they were not sure how much it was worth. I therefore checked on the internet and it would seem that a purse full of mongolian money is only worth £1.47. We are going to need a bigger purse!!
