It's been a pretty full on couple of weeks with Mick and Hollie in town for the last five days, Matt beginning his next project out in Vancouver and finishing off work in Atlanta and Van studying and beginning to deal with the auditors.
Last weekend Matt did an introductory climbing course with a couple of friends while Van got a haircut and cooked a fantastic Waitangi Day dinner for Stacey and David on Saturday night. We then gave ice skating a wee go at the local rink on the waterfront. No surprises that Van was waaaay better at ice skating than Matt! On Sunday we went over to Jenn and Jason's for the Super Bowl which was a lot of fun.
This weekend we went up to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park for a snowshoeing adventure with Mick and Hollie and Gordon and some of his friends. It was freaking freezing!! Van measured the temperature at -34 degrees at one point. We camped out, but it wasn't comfortable! Thank goodness we had good sleeping bags and got the fire going. A couple of Gordon's mates got frostnip which was a bit unfortunate. We were all very relieved to get back to Toronto and went out to Hooters to watch the NBA All Star game. Today we did the Steam Whistle brewery tour, said hello to the Amsterdam Brewhouse and finished off with some ice wine and cheese toasties at our place. Yummy!!
