What an incredible day! After a very filling breakfast, we walked over to the train station to get on a Hop On Hop Off Tourist Bus to see the sights of Oslo. Got off at the Norwegian Folk Museum. Wow! What can I say about this amazing place. It is an outside working museum with the most beautiful old buildings and working displays of an old Norway. Betty, Bodil and Randi walked to the Stav Church on the hill and we also went into a couple of the old homes to try out the coffee - old fashioned style, and also to see how they make flat bread on a griddle. Had lunch in the cafe. Got back on the bus and went to Vigerland where by father took my mother over 55 years ago. The park is so beautiful and the statues amazing. Got back on the bus and went to the Church where the people of Oslo had laid flowers, letters and candles for the young people who had died. This was a very moving experience as we lit candles and put an Australian Flag on the pile of flowers and gifts. There was a girl with a FREE HUGS sign so of course we took advantage of this and gave and received the most beautiful hugs. Walked back to the hotel room for a rest, then off to a Mogolian Restaurant for tea. Beautiful food and beautiful company. Back to the hotel where we spent the night in Bodil and Randi's bedroom with Sonja's granddaughter sharing stories and singing songs. How beautiful my Norwegian Rellies are - Binki would have been so proud to see so much love in the room.
