Kia Ora, Guten Tag!
Often when I'm chatting to people back home, they ask me with huge anticipation, "So, what did you do TODAY?". As if every day here is spent doing something extremely exciting and new . For the first few weeks, this was absolutely true! Everything was foreign, I walked around like a stunned tourist getting lost at every possible chance I could. However, things have changed. Like any big change in life, we have adjusted to our new routines and everything now is quite "normal".
Compared to our lifestyle in NZ, life here is very very cruisy!! Ry has the coolest contract ever written! He trains twice a week, plays once and helps out with coaching the younger teams. It leaves him with alot of free time which is the exact opposite of "Farmer Ry" in NZ!
I'm working two jobs at the moment, hopefully soon to be three! 1- As a nanny for a lovely family in the middle of Berlin. 2-As a private english tutor to two boys in high school. 3- Had an interview today for a travel consultant in Berlin! What's that saying.. "Variety is the spice of life". Well, I'm not 100% but I think this is applicable to my life right now! I'm super thankful to have so many good opportunities with great employers here!
So, to clear up the misconception, as much as I would LIKE to have enough interesting stories to write a new blog every day, more or less we are just what we did in NZ, just 11412.66 Km's away! I would say our "quality of life" here is much better. We eat out nearly every meal (yes this is why you are not seeing any full body photos of me!
haha), we are immersed in a totally new language and culture which is making us grow so much. When I look back at myself when I came here in October, I feel like I was just a little girl who had no clue! Overall, making the decision to sell everything we owned, pack up and move halfway across the world, has been the best, most rewarding decision we could have made!
"In other news.." We found the Kiwi Pub! It was awesome as expected. Although over an hour away on the train! No steinlager however so tui sufficed. No mince and cheese pies available but we did have the next best thing- Bacon and egg which was delicious! I could make a killing if I started my own pie business over here...
Next on the agenda is our trip to Prague, Czech Republic next Wednesday. We will be staying there for 5 nights and will spend Valentines there. We decided to do things differently and catch the bus there! That way we can see everything that we miss by plane. Fingers crossed for no car sickness... Lol.
Clearly I have found the italics, bold and smiley's button... Your welcome
Until next time, Tschuss!
