Day 8 - 2nd July
Got up @ 6:30am to wait outside our hostel for our pick-up @ 7:15am to take us to the boat.
Climbed aboard our boat and off we went to Koh Rong - the boat's speed was immensely slow and the journey was gonna take 2 hours - so we all fell asleep to past time.
Woke up to a beautiful island with white sand. There were options of where you could stay: 'Coco', 'Paradise Island', 'Monkey Island' and 'Treehouse' - we choose to stay in a bungalow at 'Treehouse' for one night at USD15 per room per night (USD5 each). The bungalow seemed decent although the mosquito nets was a bit worn with some holes!!
There are no wifi to access the Internet and hardly any plug sockets. So our phones were running low and we couldn't update our blogs.
We all hit the beach right away, sunbathing, swimming etc.
To our left there was some rocks and if you looked over it, there was another beach with no people, bungalows whatsoever. So we climbed over the rocks and saw all sort of creatures such as crabs, lizards, some strange looking bugs till we got to the unoccupied beach. Had another swim and found ourselves joined by little white fishes swimming nearby us.
It was pretty cool having the beach to ourselves. A few hours later we went back and had something to eat. We met another girl who was on our boat to the island and all four of us had a walk along the beach and stopped at a bar for a drink watching the sunset. It was a very relaxing scenery - one that you'd love to have in your back garden!
By now it was dark and the generators go off at 10:30pm so we went back to our bungalow before the lights go off. Ross and Will couldn't quite put up their own mostique nets due to the treehouse's own shabby one being in the way, so we managed to clip our ones onto the shabby mostique net. It wasn't the best of ideas as we didn't fit in properly and there was hardly enough space to move around. Plus it was baking hot - so it was really uncomfortable to sleep. William managed to sleep ok, whereas Ross struggled and only managed 2 hours sleep. Gina slept like a log.

peter jeyes Guys, I see that you are both still going strong and enjoying yourselves, with the occasional crash out in between. Was that actual food on your pate (potatoes) - must have been like eating a gourmet meal, instead of legs and tails. Blog now up to day 8, so i guess beginning to work your way back to the start of your adventure. the island looks great hope you enjoyed your time there and will wait for stories on travelling companions upon return - but seriously congratulations to you both on your journey and the experience that you are living.
