KOLKATA, INDIA. THURSDAY APRIL 29 2010, 2045 HRS.
I was not sure if I had arrived into a traveller ghetto until I began hearing the already familiar sound which I hadn't heard in many weeks: "hello friend come my shop just looking no charge air condition yes boss taxi?" I have to locate myself here simply because of the prices of the guesthouses are much more affordable here. But still, I don't see that many foreigners here, and the ambience and the atmosphere are far from some tourist traps I've seen in other countries. I even figured out how to get beer now (yeehaa!) and my guesthouse room is just big enough that I can lay down, and there's electricity so I can listen to music here, so what else do I need?
I cannot emphasize enough how big the difference is just a couple of kilometers away from here, what I experienced yesterday... Total chaos! But of course the fact that yesterday I was carrying a s***load of stuff with me made it even more exhausting as well. The temperature is now around 39 °C.
One more thing: Today I began investigating the culinary arts of India, and I tell you that India is a heaven on earth for vegetarians!
