The weekend was a blast evryday here i experience things never even dreamed of in Australia, Saturday morning i did a weight session then me and Omar went for a ride on our scooters started in Chalong and went south to the bottom of Phuket to Rawai beach then rode up the western side of the island through Kata, Karon and Patong. The ride was amazing driving through mountains overlooking beaches seeing elephants and road side stalls selling grilled food. We stopped at a Rasta bar on the side of a mountain above Nai Harn beach this place is like out the movies it really is paradise, we were a bit baffled by one of the bar staff that was a ladyboy but he still looked like a tough guy we thought he's never gonna get away with passing for a girl so why even try.
In patong i did a bit of shopping like everywhere everything is cheap, brand name counterfeit stuff everywhere latest dvd for $2, i brought some movies off an Indian guy he took me to his shop where he sells clothing but he had a secret door in the wall covered by clothing and it leads to a room that is like a video shop with thousands of movies to choose from. One outdoor bar in the shopping district of Patong was called the Aussie bar they had a funny sign that said "Your wife shop and you drink Piss".
On Sunday about 8 of us went to Patong stadium to support our friend who was fighting, Taizo hes from Adelaide had his first ever fight he's only been here for 3 weeks and 2 of those weeks was in the beginner class he won by knockout in the 5th round. After the fight we went to Bangla road thats the Party zone man what an experience, you walk into the discotechue and theres about 50 bars in the one big complex with thousands of girls all grabbing at you trying to persuade you to drink at there bar me and a few of the guys were only drinking water as we were keen to train in the morning. We played this game with the bar girls where every player has a nail each in a bit of flat cut tree trunk the object of the game is to hit the nail in so it is flush but you use the small end of the hammer that is only a few mm, i was doing well but missed a few times towards the end and the bar girl won. Later me and Ronny went to get a feed and when we got back to the bar the other guys had gone so I caught a Tuk Tuk back to Chalong and Ronny followed on his Scooter because he didnt know the way back. Kumar learnt a valuable lesson on his way back from Patong to never drink and drive, he came off his bike at Kata beach luckily a Taxi saw it happen and brought him back where some of the guys cleaned him up, he tore a lot of skin off his right side busted his chin as well.
Well i didnt train today because the swollen ankle has me worried, it is not as swollen when i wake but swells up as i get more active, i hope its not Staph infection i was gonna go back to the doctor for some antibiotics just in case but instead got some Colloidal Silver from Dragon Muay Thai that people here use instead of antibiotics. Ill do some weights instead but it will have to be all upper body. It really sucks missing out on the training as I only have limited time here, I am contemplating fighting Muay Thai while im here but it will have to be in the last week in case i get injured and cant train after. Taizo took a lot of kicks to the ribs and got elbowed on top of his head so he doesnt think hell be fit to train for a few days.
Oh yeah on Saturday night something really funny happened Ronny from Switzerland had a few blisters on his feet from training so Dave from Ireland gave him some disinfectant spray for it, Ronny sprayed some on his foot and started making really loud funny noises stereotypical of a Swiss it went something like "ya ya hoo hoo hoo ya ya ahhh" me and Dave cracked up so much we were laughing for ages. Ronny said he thought his foot was going to fall off, later Kumar came from the restaurant and asked what the screaming was about. Its a funny group we have here guys from all over the world when we were in a cab the other night Dave said " So there's a Kiwi a German an Irishman and Englishman sitting in a cab" like he was telling a joke we all just laughed hard, Im the first Maori Dave has ever met so he asked if he could get a phot with me to show his friends back in Ireland. While I was at the bar last night i used the toilet and when washing my hands this guy starts massaging my back, then he cracks my back and my neck and hands me a towel to wipe my hands its funny because it took me by surprise but thats his actual job i gave him 20 Baht. So now im gonna head off to do some weights and if i cant train in the morning i will at least do the Yoga class.
