Part 2 of monday training
So after I typed the first blog I was hammered and crashed for a while before my evening training which was 3 hours of muay Thai. I started in the beginners class to assess where I was and have decided to do it for a week then move up to the more advanced class. It is mainly a fitness class with a bit of technique thrown in, I can see my fitness levels going through the roof. We did some one on work pad work with the trainers which was awesome they really pick you to pieces about proper technique we do 3x3 minute rounds of pad work, sparring and bag work. I was lucky because I got to do pad work twice and sparring once, my first instructor calls himself 'M' he looks quite young but he is awesome teaching me some defensive moves and kept drilling me until I mastered them. My next instructor concentrated on my round kick making sure I don't get lazy and just kick up instead of rolling my hips. At this point I'm really keen to start doing private lessons but I think I'll wait a couple of days until I adjust some more because I don't want to go too hard and then the body just gives up or becomes injured from over training. After training I ate with Tonci then went back to his resort which is about 100m from mine but it's really flash, has a nice pool it looks like the resorts you see in all the brochures. Kicked it in the pool for about an hour and now I'm back here typing this. Over the next few days this will probably be the routine so I won't be writing as much but I've already got the weekend planned to go to Patong beach that's where all the hardcore nightlife is. Oh yeah I nearly forgot to mention that in Phuket there are 10,000 motorbike accidents a year, as of today 4 of the guys in my complex have motorbike injuries and I met some Aussies at Tonci's resort who said there friend lost his leg in an accident last night. Now I'm not so keen to do much riding on the main roads around here just in the local area and more quiet streets, I've already figured out some shortcuts to stay off the main road. Anyhow gotta hit the the sack training in the morning.
