Well hello again everybody. Sorry it has taken so long to write a new blog and put pictures on but it has been a busy week or two since we last wrote our blog.
Ok so since leaving Ko Chang and all the friends we met there we headed back to Bangkok with another lad we met called Guy. After getting up early to catch the first ferry and then our bus to Bangkok we were ready to set off on our adventure, and an adventure was what it was!. Ok so the ferry was fine no problems there, we arrived at the Bus and to our suprise it was a lovely Bus, double decker, air con the works. We all picked our spot and waited to head off for the 6 hour journey to Bangkok. 10 minutes later and we are on the side of the road with a dead bus! Boiling hot, no shade just what you need hey! Needless to say the good old english spirit didn't fade................for the first hour but even we were starting to get a little annoyed. Anywho, cutting it short 2 hours later a replacement bus finally picked us up and took us to Bangkok.
Again thank you to Martin and Ailsa for letting us stay with them, only this time we had Olly and Toby with us. After a few days R&R and a few litres of Chang Beer we headed to our flight to take us to Phuket where we would then go to Ko Phi Phi.
Ok so Phuket, or as we like to call it the arse hole of Thailand. I will sum this place up in as little words as possible, think Costa Del Sol, mixed with a holiday island, then add in lots of sleazy old men young thai girls, OAP's and a few, sorry a lot of lady boys and you pretty much have all the ingrediants to make Phuket. Needless to say Chris and I jumped on the bandwagon and partied till dawn. When in Rome I guess, but don't worry no Lady Boys were hurt in our party. The next day was spent sleeping in our bed and watching the FA cup matches ready to be up bright and early to get the boat to Ko Phi Phi.
Ko Phi Phi, this is a tiny island that was severly damaged in the Tsunami. However, they have managed to re-build a lot and capture it's original beauty in it. We arrived to pouring rain which strangley enough was quite nice. After finding some accomodation in a very packed Phi Phi we headed out to explore and guess what, get drunk. And this Ladies and Gentleman was when we met, our now great friends, the Kiwis. Deano, who is an Aussie, Calvin who is english, and Brad and Curtis, who are actually Kiwis, have made the last 6 or 7 days the best so far, well almost. We can honesty say you boys are legends and we are looking forward to the reunion in Aukland, maybe Sydney. But we have had some great times. As the pics show nearly all of the times involved alcohol but we found a bar that sold buckets, yes thats right, buckets of samsong, coke and redbull. Now I can honestly say Phi Phi has merged into one big blur, the only thing I do remember is how much fun we had and the great friends we made. Oh yeah and I did some scuba diving. I would highly recommend not to get steaming and have 2 hours sleep before doing it though. However, it was a great day and on my return to the beach I was greated by cold beers and smiling faces. What more can you ask for?
Anywho, I would highly recommend Phi Phi to anyone who is coming to Thailand. It is quirky and quaint but nothing like any other place in Thailand. No hassle from locals selling things, beatuiful beaches GREAT food, especially the sea food and great people, what ever your budget.
Ok back to Phuket. We have just spent 2 days there with Calv, Beautiful Brad and Curtis before we headed to Singapore. 2nd time round was no better, well ok maybe a little. We landed on our feet with a cheap but amazing apartment with hot showers, nice beds, living room and tv/dvd. We had a good few nights out again on the razz but can honestly say that we need a rest now. And so here we are, Thailand is over it has been 7 weeks of fun in the sun. We have met amazing people who we will stay in touch with and some interesting ones we won't. We are now in Singapore ready to fly to Bali tomorrow evening where 3 more weeks of sun and sand await for us. It's a hard life hey.
Hope everyone is well back home and work/the weather isn't getting you down!
Love Ash and Chris.
P.S, Beautiful Brad is the blonde one, Calvin the one with the white hat, and Curtis the one doing the Hakka. Just so you can put faces to names.
