Well hello again from sunny Thailand. It has been a while since we updated the blog so I thought I would let you all know how things are.
We are currently on the island of Ko Chang which is about 3 hours from the last Island we were at. We left Ko Samet, adding Charlie to our travel party and saying our farewells to our local barman headed in our VIP mini bus to the ferry port to come across to Ko Chang. After a night of heavy drinking and a greasy fry up the last thing any of us wanted was to be squashed in our VIP mini bus for 3 hours, however the journey flew by and we arrived at the Ferry.
Armed with our lonely planet, we for once had researched where the best spot to go would be and the best, sorry i'll rephrase that, cheapest accomodation we could find. After picking a place called lonely beach we jumped in our taxi and headed for the backpackers haven. Upon arrival we found that the name really did live up to itself. From the madness and partying of Ko Samet we were a little shocked. After a short discussion we decided that we'd give it a go for one night and would move on if it was too quiet.
After trekking along the beach backpacks and bags hanging off every limb we were greated with everywhere being full, however we were pointed in the direction of some rocks and told there were some more places around the rocks.. To cut a long story short, I sat with the bags whilst Charlie and Brainer investigated. 30 mins later they arrived back and said they had found somewhere.
And this brings us to where I am right now. Paradise. in every sence of the word. We are staying at Paradise Cottage but it is wooden little huts with hammocks and cushions over looking the sea. After dumping our bags in the rooms we got some beers and found our seats. We have been here 14 days and those seats are still ours. It is hard to describe this place we do nothing all day but read in a hammock, at night we drink, lots infact and then the next day is the same. It is like groundhog day but we love it and that is why we haven't moved on. The staff are amazing and now are our friends, they drink with us eat with us and pretty much do most things with u, (apart from go to bed with us that would be weird!).
We have ventured out on a few occasions mainly to explore the island on mopeds but there is a good crowd of us now so we have no desire to do anything but chill out all day. With this in mind we have decided to stay for christmas, Pong and Julia (the owners) have ordered the turkey and they want us to join them for a propper english christmas, yet in the sun over looking the sea!.
That is pretty much it I am afraid, I am sorry if this bores you but there really isn't much to tell. We have however decided when we move on we will start doing something with our time so you can expect more stories in the future blogs.
I hope everyone has a fantastic christmas back home and think of us sitting sipping cocktails all day in the sun with our Turkey..
Merry Bloomin Christmas to you all
Love Ash and Brainer xx
