Today was my first official day of classes. I had my global studies class "The rise of New Great Powers" at 9:20 am, followed by Intro to Drawing. Then I had an hour break fro lunch and continued on with biomedical ethics and historical architecture. All of the classes went well except they are all 1 ¼ hours which can get pretty boring. We passed Barbados this afternoon but because I was in class I was not able to see. Apparently kids also saw whales and dauphins this morning which also would have been really cool to see. We finished up picking our trips up to and including India. I tried to pick some that would really expose me to new things and open up my eyes not necessarily ones that would be a lot of fun. In Namibia I plan on going to a shelter that houses AIDS patients. In South Africa I am going to go visit a township, but I did leave room in my schedule to go cage diving with great whites and also bungee jumping! I am going to do a service project in India along with my home stay and hopefully get a tour of the poorest section in the city, but I can't take cameras because the people do not like to be photographed. That is as far as I have planned so far, but don't forget about the Amazon and Safari trips I had planned before I left! Tonight we have to turn our clocks ahead for the first of 24 times throughout the voyage, but at the end we cross the international dateline and gain a full day.
