Hello to everyone reading this blog,
I'm very saddened to inform you all that this is the last blog of 2019 TSD International Studies trip. Today is the day that we finally returned to our home country, America. After 19 long days of adventure in Bolivia, we are really saddened when we found out that we have to return to America at one point or other. We wish that we could stay in Bolivia little longer so we can further our adventure!
Anyways, today we woke up at 4 am to prepare for our 8 am flight to Miami, USA from Santa Cruz. It was really tiring and sad for all us when we boarded our airplane. The flight to Miami was 7 hours long, most of us slept through the flight because we are too exhausted after 18 long days of adventure in Bolivia.
When we landed at Miami, we had to wait for other 4 hours to board our connecting flight, which is the plane that will take us back to our home state, Texas. During the wait, we took a chance to eat our first "American" food on America soil after these past 19 days.
It has been a long journey of rich experience and adventure in Bolivia. We will never forget this rich experience! I will share our thoughts about Bolivia from each of students that are part of this trip.
Jayne Taylor- "Rich experience!"
Rebekah Scroggins- "Cultural!"
Kodi Lee- "Opened my eyes on this world!"
Zarek Nathanson- "Unique!"
Ashley Harlicker- "Beautiful!"
Taran Johnson- "Magnificent!"
Nevan Graves- "Journey of learning and experience"
Jack Scarboro- "Majestic!"
Ashlene Etkie- "Crazy! (Traffic)"
These words described the journey that we embarked on in the country of Bolivia! We highly recommend you to go visit Bolivia! You will for surely enjoy your time at there!
We are truly fortunate that International Studies program at Texas School for the Deaf enables students like us to be able discover and immerse into such a rich culture like Bolivia. We experienced what could be described as a "once in a lifetime" adventure, and that brought so much learning to us. Nothing can replicate the hand-on learning we experienced during the trip, while the classroom learning can teach us, traveling and interacting with the Bolivians truly made our brains brighter. It opened up the endless possibilities in our life, including the exposure of the real world and especially deaf cultures all over the world. It was inspiring to see our fellow deaf peers learning from us. Vice versa, we also learned a lot from them. That is what traveling is supposed to be about, sharing your passion and love for others with the people all over the world.
That's all folks!!
Jack
