as much appeal as the smoggy, sticky and endlessly busy streets of bangkok have, it was time to venture further afield! we headed 4hours north - west to the lush, green, almost wild-thai jungle like, national park called Erawan, - named after the elephant god, due to its resemblence overall, apparently. so the day was full of wats! The shiny, sparkly, guilted thai kind, ones that just pop out of nowhere in amongst the concrete and tuk tuk jungle that is the rest of the city; the ' so wats that in pounds? ' like 3p - excellent!; the ' ' 'wat on earth is that fruit? and oh my how does it smell that horrific?! ' and the 'wat the...how hot is it, i'm actually dripping!'
