At Streaky Bay I met with a nice elderly couple June and Ross from the Barossa Valley in a huge coach motor home (which included two Jason Chairs would you believe and a tiled splash back in the kitchen) They were roadside sleeping that nigh at Eyres Water Hole about 15 south of Streaky Bay. I joined them and we had pleasant pre dinner drinks at our new site.
This site was where Eyre and his team stopped on their exploring route to Albany in WA. The well is clearly marked and still has water in it. No doubt the Aborigines in the team knew where to direct him.
After our morning goodbyes I wanted to have look at Venus Bay as a possible place to stay.
